"Bert" was a fine woman and great cook. She had to be to put up with Joe. You could find her in the kitchen always cooking up some delicious treats; pies, cakes, kolatchies, roleekies.

She had been in a terrible auto accident in Suring. Her leg had been crushed and she had to walk with a brace on her leg and a cane. But it didn't slow her down.

She was one of the biggest Green Bay Packer fans. On Sunday she was always in front of the TV rooting for her team. And if things weren't going well, that cane got a good workout on her hassock.
