Elizabeth's birth year and location are based on (1) her parents living in the Portsmouth area then Sandy Beach (Rye) and (2) the birth year (1654) of her oldest child.

The Locke Family Association is formed by the descendants of: Captain John Locke of Hampton, NH 1627-1696, Nathaniel Locke of Portsmouth, NH 1629-1674 and William Locke of Woburn, MA 1628-1720. The Locke Family Association was founded in 1891 by the descendents of Capt. John Locke and Elizabeth (Berry) Locke who settled at Locke's Neck, New Hampshire in the middle of the Seventeenth Century.
At the time that Capt. John and wife Elizabeth settled at Locke's Neck, New Hampshire, it was part of the town of Hampton. In 1723 several citizens petitioned the legislature to create a new town out of a piece of Hampton. This new town, where Locke's Neck is located was named Rye. Members of the Locke family were the primary movers in the creation of Rye which is still in existence today
