Family were millers at the stone mill at Pittersdorf, Gemeinde Hummeltal, near Bayreuth (just to the south west). Georg accepted a position as choirmaster and court clerk at Lindenhardt (somewhat further south) and then Kasendorf (northwest of Bayreuth). His son went to Plech, to the souithwest, halfway to Nurnberg.
