HENDERSON — Larry M. Cates, 64, a resident of 50 Waters Edge Cove, died Friday, July 2, 2010 at Maria Parham Hospital.

A native of Durham County, the son of the late Allen and Margaret Thompson Cates. He worked as an electrician for many years and retired from Duke University.

Graveside memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, July 5, 2010 in South Granville Memorial Gardens by Rev. Arnold Price

Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Faye Cox Cates of the home, two sons, Duane Cates of Franklinton and Marc W. Cates of Richmond, Virginia, two brothers, Ricky Cates of Durham and Norman Cates of Timberlake, two grandchildren, Brandon and Brittany Cates.”
