Notes for John Dusenbury Matz
Army lieutenant in World War I.
Copy of letter to him from Wheeler & Dusenbury, Est. 1834, Endeavor, PA written March 18, 1925 sounding out partners on gift of 20 acres of virgin white pine in Warren County to newly formed Allegheney National Forest as they begin cutting the last virgin stand in their holdings. Refers to first page of ledger of Dusenbury, Wheeler & Co. June 12, 1818 at Deposit, NY indicating that after 107 years of cutting pine timber they can afford to give away 20 acres.
