In 1870 they had been in Denmark Township, Lee County, Iowa.

In the July 1860 census, they are married with one child, George W. who is 10 months old and who does not appear in later censuses. They are living in Union Township, Des Moines County, Iowa. He is a “farmer tenant”. There is also a 10 year old child named Lucy A. Corey, born in Indiana, living with them.
