1940 census - living off River Street, Mattapan, age 40, born in Boston, with Helen age 42, born in Taunton, daughter Helen age 25 and son Charles age 18. He works in a hotel, she is a nurse, daughter is a vaudeville singer and son is a messenger.

1942 directory has them at 1438 Blue Hill Avenue, Mattapan. In 1947 he is a bell hop; son is in the Army.
