McHugh, Florence - Boston - 1901 - Vol.511, Page 16 - Birth

1930 Census has Florence Crawford, age 28, and son, George F., age 9, living on Shawmut Avenue in Boston. She was married at age 17. Working as a waitress.

1940 Census has her as divorced, age 37, with son George age 19, living with her sister Catherine Carr, age 50, a widow, at 5 Worcester Square. both women working as waitresses.

"I do remember visiting my grandmother "Florence" with the whole family on Sundays quite often.  We'd have lunch at their house in Boston at 2031 Commonwealth Ave. Usually it included our immediate family of 5, Grammy, her second husband William O'Connor whom we called Grampy, her sister Katherine "Kitty" whom we called Nana, and William's sister Eileen O'Connor called 'Sis'.  It was always an occasion and it was well known that the "sisters" Florence, Nana, Bea did not get along very well.  Grammy and Nana were always getting into it at the dinner table.  We never saw Bea.  In summers we would go up to grammy's house and rental cottages at Old Orchard Beach in Maine."
