(the third Hugh..first two were born, baptised and died young)

A family member indicated that he was a priest, but the Massachusetts State Archives shows a possible Hugh McHugh, age 24 in 1874, working as a “car inspector” who married Mary A. Bean, age 23, on April 21, 1874 in Boston. He was born in St. John, NB, the son of Hugh and Bridgett McHugh. She was born in Great Falls, New Hampshire(?), the daughter of Patrick Bean and Mary. They were married by Daniel S Healy in Boston. Vol. 264 page 57.

She died in Waltham, Massachusetts on 17 March, 1876 of consumption at the age of 25 years, 4 months and 25 days. Vol: 284 ; Page: 186   

His 2nd marriage at age 29, still a car inspector, born St. John, NB to Hugh and Bridgett, on Jan 11, 1881, to Annie Bailey (1st marriage) age 23, of Watertown, Massachusetts, daughter of Patrick and Mary. Vol. 327 page 5. He died 22 October 1890 in Watertown at age 40.

Naturalization in 1887 says born In New Brunswick 16 Oct 1850, living at 17 Chapman Street, Boston (no current matching address).
