On 1 January 1906, brothers Valentino, age 37, and Pietro, age 35, Cartelli arrived at Ellis Island, having sailed from Southampton, England, going to join their brother Giovanni in Colorado. Traveling with them was Antonio Vallar, age 24, Paolina Mniutti, age 22, going to join her husband Natale Miniutti in Leadville, Colorado, all from Tramonti.
