“GARVEY, Thomas E. 74, of West Bridgewater and formerly of Milton, died peacefully on June 3, 2016 surrounded by his family. Tom was the loving son the late John and Kathleen (Ahern) Garvey and grew up in East Milton. He attended Milton High School and worked in the trucking industry his entire life. Tom was a terminal manager in the trucking industry for many years and in 1973 Tom and his brother Jack started their business, Garvey Transport Inc. He loved Cape Cod and was a lifelong boating enthusiast; his favorite boat being the "The Common Carrier". Tom was a proud member of The Metropolitan Yacht Club, The Antique Truck Club of America as well as a member of the Board of Directors at Harbor Haven Association in South Yarmouth. Loving husband of Anne M. (Manning ) Garvey of West Bridgewater, and devoted father of Kathleen A. Perkins and her husband David J. of Bridgewater, Linda M. Trask of East Bridgewater, Pamela A. Sergio and her husband Christopher of West Bridgewater. Proud "Grampy" of Amanda, Jacqueline, John, Alexander, and Nicholas. Loving brother and friend of Jack A. Garvey of Braintree and his late wife Ruth. Brother in law of Frank Manning (Barbara) and John D. Manning (Julie). Also survived by many nephews, nieces and cousins. Family and friends are cordially invited to the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. Bridgewater on Sat. June 11 at 10am. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Ann's Church, 103 N. Main St. West Bridgewater at 11am followed by a burial at Pine Hill Cemetery.
