Born in Stuttgart, Germany on June 4, 1874, he came to America in 1893, entering Eden Theological Seminary, now in St. Louis, the same year, graduating with a diploma in 1896, when he was ordained a minister of the German Evangelical Synod of North America. His first pastorate was Zion in Germania, MI, 1896 to 1901, then Marine City, MI, St. John’s, 1902 to 1905, then Chesterton, IN, St. John’s, 1906 to 1910, when he came to his last pastorate, St. John’s, Gary, IN, 1911 to 1915.”
