Notes for Amelia F. Schramm
Dec. 2008 -Laura Engel, by email
“I may be able to add a bit to your Schramm family tree. My great grandfather, Clarence Marion Noble, was married to Amelia Schramm Bonneville. I think she was the daughter of John M. Schramm of Pontoosuc, IL. (I think it's Johann Michael Schramm in your tree). According to the death record, she was born October 16, 1853 and died July 20, 1946 in Moline, Illinois. She and Clarence lived in Pontoosuc in a rock house up on a hill overlooking Pontoosuc. It still stands. The story goes that my great grandfather died and his nephew and took over the estate and essentially robbed "Millie" blind. She ended up in a nursing home in Moline, Illinois.” Death certificate says Rock Island County Home.
1900 Census shows her as unmarried, living with her mother and brother.
1910 census also shows her as unmarried and living with her brother William and his son Clifton. Her middle initial is shown as “F.”
1920 census has her name mis-indexed as Schramn. She is listed as age 60, the owner of a house in Pontoosuc. There are no other family members there and she seems to have a widowed man, Theodore David? and his family as tenants. Her middle initial is again given as “F”.
Undated newspaper clipping refers to her as Mrs. Amelia Schramm Bonneville when she marries Clarence Noble.
