““our great grandfather, was called Giovanni Battista Antonio Baret. He came from Tramonti di Sotto, born 17.12.1876. His parents were Pazienza Rugo (b.1838) and Paolo Baret (b.1839). We have more family information about all his grandparents which include the names Rugo, Marmai and Miniutti. (They are written down in a copy of the family ahnenpass which had to be drawn up during the Nazi regime in the 1930's.) “”

Laura obtained his death registration and it describes him as a "Kaufmann" (=merchant,trader). Also “as far as my mother knows he did not die in a mining accident. She was told by uncle Vino that his father died in a motorcycle accident. Maybe this happened during work, driving to another building site. ... My mother said he had a small company himself. As far as she remembers uncle Vino's telling,this small company did works for the Reichsbahn (railway company).” December 2010
