Notes for Savino Baret
“In the Mid-70ties we went to Venice and my mother took the chance of finding out where her uncle Savino Baret (not Sovino) lived. His flat was in a road called Canarrigio. So I got the chance to get to know him. I never got the chance to get to know his son Fabio who was studying at that time and became a lawyer.
When my mother visited aunt Norma some years ago she was told that both Savino and Fabio are dead. “

“Uncle Vino was an upholsterer but actually did everything very well and always knew about anything. He even repaired watches and clocks. He repaired my broken wooden horse, built me a simple guitar and showed us how to make ice-cream. We always enjoyed his visits when he came to Germany.” Laura, December 2010
February 2016 “In the late 1980s I was in my teens and very interested in Mineralogy and mineral collecting. That's how I met Savino, who was curator at the museum of Natural History in Venice, a position which he covered for several years. He had formed a small group of people interested in mineralogy and for several years we met in the lab he had setup at the Museum (every Thursday afternoon!).”
