In May 1907 he sailed from Antwerp to Quebec and then entered the US, going to join his brother Giuseppe at 11 Piotti Place in Dorchester.
Arrived at Ellis Island on April 30, 1910, age 25, unmarried, traveling to join his brother, Giuseppe, at 173 Magnolia Street, Dorchester, MA. He left his father, Battista, in Tramonti. He had been in Boston in 1906 and 1907. (Could he be the passenger listed as Giovanni Rogo, age 7, arriving at Ellis Island on November 28, 1892 on the La Gascogne from Le Havre along with Giuseppe “RuoRoh” who was 15 years older, age 22. The original manifest for this trip has not been found, text version only.)
14 April 1914 - Albino Rugo, age 33, left his wife Maddalena in Tramonti and traveled to join his cousin, G. B. Rugo on Norfolk Avenue. Says he was previously in Boston in 1910. 1910 Census seems to have Albino Rugo living with Alvise Rugo on Norfolk Avenue, but age does not match, appears to be 22 in 1910.
March 1931 sailed from Genoa to New York, says he was naturalized in Boston in February 1919.
John Rugo signed receipt for construction of garage on Mellen Street, Dorchester, MA for the Joseph C. O'Hara family of 32 Ocean Street in June/July 1936. Building permit dated Sept. 21, 1935 shows his address as 149 Pleasant St., Dorchester. In 1983, Bob and Vicki Rugo bought a house at 42 Ocean Street, next door to the O'Haras', now owned by their son, Charles. Original of receipt still in O'Hara's posession in July 1996 and a copy given to Bob and Vicki. Copy of building permit found by O’Haras April 2001 and copy given to Bob & Vicki.
