Went back to Tramonti with his mother. Went to school in Torino. Served in the Italian Army. Returned to Boston at age 22. (arrived at Ellis Island 3 April 1922 having left his uncle Don Leonardo Bidoli in Visinale.) Worked in family market where he met his wife.

1931 directory shows him as a meat cutter living at 85 Howard Avenue.
1934 Boston directory has John A. and Lena living at 85 Howard Avenue, he is working as a meat cutter. The 1930 Quincy directory shows that he worked in Quincy at 18 Chestnut Street, lived in Dorchester.

Living in Roxbury in October, 1964 when his sister died.
