Joseph Graglia, 75, of Canton, an attorney who practiced in Boston for the past 50 years, died yesterday in his home after a brief illness. He had been ill with cancer.

Born in Boston, he lived in Canton for the past 13 years and was a Suffolk Law School graduate.

He was a member of the Massachusetts Bar Assn. and the Justinian Law Society, and was a past grand knight of the Mt. Pleasant Council of the Knights of Columbus.

He also was retired from the Selective Service System and was a former member of the Boston Finance Committee and a former assistant corporation counsel for the city of Boston.

He leaves his wife, Maddelena ( Marmai ) of Canton; two daughters, Anita Girard of Clifton Park, N.Y., and Julie Conroy of Canton; a brother, Angelo of West Roxbury; and four sisters, Irene White of Mansfield, Eleana D'Arcy of West Roxbury, Mary Pettibone of Van Nuys, Calif., and Dorothy Harkins of Bridgewater; and four grandchildren.

A funeral Mass will be said Saturday at 9 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church, Washington Street, Canton. Burial will be in New Calvary Cemetery, Mattapan.
