Notes for Santa Masutti
Henry Rugo said she was from Palcoda. Palcoda was a village of about 90 - 120 people located east of the center of Tramonti di Sotto. It was mostly abandoned after World War I, the last residents being a Masutti family in 1923.

Masutti in the telephone directory includes at least one Tramonti di Mezzo listing.

? March 7, 1892 arrival at Ellis Island on the La Bourgogne from LeHavre of Santa Varnerin, age 30, agrees with her statement in 1920 Census about year of arrival in US. “Gio Varnerin” travelling with her may be her husband, although he is shown as also age 30 which would not be correct for her husband. No children with them. The two oldest came three years later in March, 1895 with their father, Giacomo Varnerin. This trip may also be Giovanni Battista Varnerin, whose age matches, and his wife Santa Varnerin who was approximately the same age as this Santa,
